Bloodstone is a rock with a rich history of magic. For as long as people have been picking up rocks, a lot of them have believed that this rock is magic! It's the March birthstone!
 
I only have a few of these rocks. The basic type can be found in a lot of places but most of the stuff being sold now comes from India. Since it can also be found in California, that's probably where the rocks I have came from. From what I can see on the Internet, India is shipping out anything slightly green these days. I'm pretty sure that my dad bought or traded for the ones I have more than half a century ago at a rock show. Since my dad always had a great eye for great rocks, this one is a high quality, crack-free and dark green specimen. There are not a lot of the red spots (hematite) but they are there.
 
I might irritate a few of my customers with this listing. I'll take that chance. But the gross superstition associated with this rock just seems silly to me. Here's some direct quotes from other sellers:
 
"FREE SELENITE CHARGING STICK! This Bloodstone was charged for 7 days on a Selenite Log" (What is "charging"? This is a ROCK, not a battery.)
 
"It helps to remove energy blockages and negative energy from your body and aura."
 
"It is said to be good for the heart, joints, kidneys, livers, hips, blood, spleen, and bone marrow."
 
Aarrrrrgh!!!  This is the kind of thing that belongs in the middle ages!
