Here’s a unique rock that you might not have seen before. Think of Oolite as being "pearls turned into stone". That's essentially what it is. "Oolite (egg stone) is a sedimentary rock formed from ooids, spherical grains composed of concentric layers."
 
Oolite starts out as a tiny particle that happens to find itself in the right place to accumulate layers of calcium carbonate until it's compressed and cemented into stone. That's how oysters create pearls except that the oyster supplies the layers rather than the right kind of water at the right time for chunks of this beautiful rock.
